Ezra Roger Clarke was born and raised in the tropical Island of St. Vincent & the Grenadines. His musical Career stared in his own backyard at age 14, while playing pans, pots buckets and steel drums. Ezra’s passion for music allowed him to excel in writing songs, playing Drums and singing.
He was influenced by some very famous singers such as Kenny Rogers, Lionel Richie, Elvis Presley, Charley Pride, Jim Reeves, De mighty Sparrow and Alston “Becket” Cyrus.
Roger Clarke became a full fledge Entertainer in 1977 when he began singing in Hotels and making appearances on various Talent shows in the 1980’s in St. Vincent. His first official appearance was in 1981 at the Lyric Cinema and was awarded as one of St. Vincent’s Top ten Entertainers. Roger Clarke is a full time Country Singer and was dubbed “Toronto’s Charley Pride of Country” in 1993 by the PRIDE Magazine. One of his Country songs “NANCY” made it popular in St. Vincent since its release in 1981.
Roger Clarke’s first Hit song “Love is never Easy” was in 1982 for four weeks on Radio 705(American Top 40’s Hits and subsequently
Got an award that year as well.
He migrated to Canada in 1988 and continued his musical Career ever since. Roger performed in over 150 Venues including Restaurants, Hotels, Concerts and other local venues. Roger Clarke was awarded for his Calypso song “Sweet Soca Lady” by the Canadian reggae Music Awards in 2000 and subsequently made an appearance on Breakfast Television in Toronto.
Ezra Clarke has been and still is a music coordinator for several Churches including Faith Assemblies Mission, Yorkwoods Community Church (Salvation Army), and faith Ministry to name a few.
To date, Ezra Clarke has recorded 12 Albums including 1. Roger Clarke is affectionately known in Canada, was also a part time promoter and hosted the Concert for the ever popular JUDY BOUCHER in Toronto in 2011 at the Days Inn Hotel in Toronto. Roger is also the House pianist at the Riviera Parque Banquet Hall playing for weddings and other prestigious functions.
Roger Clarke has written over 300 songs and has written and published a Book in the USA with Trafford publishing titled ‘A Desire for Satisfaction’ His 5 other books are in the process of being published.
Hobbies: Socializing, Travelling & Writing.
